After a tough start to life in the top tier, Terrigal’s BPL 1st grade team came back with a massive win against reigning BPL Champions Gosford City. We were on the edge of our seats for the entire game. The boys played with so much passion and fight in their hearts out on Pluim Park, they came away with the results they had trained hard for during the weekend.
Gosford FC scored the first goal of the match 10 minutes in, but skipper Anthony Pace scored a cracking free kick to equalize the game. This gave Terrigal FC the confidence boost they needed to get in the match with Jayden Priest striking the ball to find the back of the net and make it 2-1.
Soon after, it was 2-2 as Gosford showed why they were previously unbeaten.
The team knew they had a fight on their hands but the underdogs of the night scored again with a well-executed shot by Anthony Pace in the 77th minute followed shortly after by another goal scored by Erik Riquelme to put the game to bed.
Incredibly, in the 2 minutes of stoppage time, Mitchell Allen came on and sealed the win with an unexpected 5th goal.
The excitement lifted every body that is part of the Terrigal FC community and shows that hard work pays off and we are ready to take on Avoca in the Local derby next Sunday. – Taliesin Grant

3rd Grade
It was a very slow start to the game, and we had an unfortunate loss to Gosford City whom scored off a penalty to make the score 1-0. Even though we had a loss our defensive structure was very good and over all the boys play very well with old players and new comers joining the guys on the field.
