5-0 Win

First game back of the season at our home ground and the O’lasses were itching to get back on the field! The girls started out strong and sharp holding the ball well with only 4 minutes in a fabulous ball was put through our midfield and Emma Power struck our first goal. The game was controlled by our strong midfielders Ella Henderson and Jess Wrigley who swiftly showed their skills keeping us on top of the game.

Another 20 minutes later rocketing it in from the six yard box, Jess Wrigley gave us our second goal.

Toukley could not break our strong defence line with Lily Brooks & Karla Nichols holding our line well alongside the outstanding combinations shown by Cailtin Johnson and Sophie Piltz who made it near impossible for the opposition to get through.

Our defense linked with our fast paced wingers Indi Moyes & Mia Bessant to bring the ball back up the field to Jordyn Toms-Wedge who slotted away nicely our third goal right before the half time whistle.

Our O’lasses comfortably held possession the whole second half showing our skills and technique, the ball was passed through every player letting Jordyn hit the back of the net again in the 56th minute with her second goal for the game. Our super subs Georgah Shearim and Kate Gilbert impacted the game positively with their energy and strength. Toukley were unable to stop the speedy Kate who broke their defense and secured the game with our fifth and final goal.

Interruptions from stoppage time did not phase the team we continued to hold down the fort and finish off the game confidently. Special mention to our keeper Elyse Vella for starting the season off with a clean sheet!
