Annabelle All The Way
Some stories just write themselves! Annabelle Goodman who has played in the Orange and Black since U7, is officially a member of the Terrigal United Football Club WPL Squad for Season 2023! What a journey! What loyalty!
Everyone at TUFC is absolutely ecstatic for this announcement which demonstrates the clear pathway that the club offers our youth.
An excited Annabelle said:
I’m really excited to be involved with Terrigal WPL this season. Terrigal’s a great club, I appreciate the opportunity, and can’t wait for the season to kick-off.
With Head Coach Gabrielle Blanch adding:
I am pleased and excited to announce Annabel as a key signing for the squad for 2023. Annabel has impressed me throughout our pre season phase, she plays well beyond her years. Really looking forward to working with her!
Such is the enormity of this announcement, TUFC have also offered comment:
President Sharon Baxter offering:
10 years ago we realised that we needed to change the format of our Womens football program to give our young ladies every opportunity to develop into the best footballers they could be. Our club focus was to retain our ladies and build success from within. The inclusion of Annabelle Goodman as a member of our WPL squad for 2023 is very exciting both for Annabelle but also for the TUFC football Dept that implemented the changes all those years ago.
And an additional thought from Club Captain Troy Pegler:
Annabelle’s selection in the WPL squad comes off the back of two phenomenal seasons in our GT A Grade Program. Her W14A team were leading the competition prior to the enforced shutdown in 2021 with last season taking Annabelle to new heights that included a league title, grand final win and champions of champions final appearance. She was given training and opportunities with WPL throughout and here we are, a true orange and black development good news story! Congratulations Annabelle! Can’t wait to see you on Sundays at Fortress
Duffys.
