Match report vs. Killarney
Sunday 12 August 2018
Duffy’s turned into the last chance hotel as a result was imperative if we were going to be a chance to make the finals.
The conditions certainly helped as the wind and ground leveled up the teams. The performance was one of character and the 1-1 scoreline was well deserved.
We can thank all 3 posts and our keeper for a fantastic save which allows us to be positive next week
We were always going to be up against it but to the guys credit they never gave up and although we suffered on the scoreboard we can be assured that Killarney had to work hard to achieve their result but in all honesty it was well deserved.
Next week is last room hotel vs. Umina as 3 points is the least we need. We’re all on your side, Good luck!
People have been questioning whether or not we deserve to be where we are on the table and that is understandable considering last year but an injection of a couple of players and a new coach (no disrespect intended to our previous coach) with some new ideas and we well and truly deserve our position.
The game was interesting if not dramatic due to the fact that Killarney were always guaranteed winning the title but we could take away from the game that we were at no time overshadowed by a team that have won 3 titles in a row. The pitch may have been a help to the home team but our results away from home suggest that we are competitive wherever we play.
The fact that we were under strength and that we are a side that can pass the ball well (NOT ALWAYS) I’m looking forward to playing the top sides at Pluim Park.
We mustn’t get to carried away as we still need to win our last two games to qualify. Umina are fighting for their lives to stay alive in this league, we cannot take it as a given the points are already won.
